Triton Basketball: Flenar Throws In A Wrench
ARGOS – As if trying to figure out how to contain Triton was easy, add this new wrinkle. Guard Nate Flenar scored a career-high 19 points Thursday night as Triton won at Argos 43-27 in boys basketball.
Flenar, who had only scored in double figures once all season – 11 against West Central – was 7-13 from the floor and 5-7 from the line. The senior added four rebounds, four steals and two assists in his career night.
Beau Hepler added nine points and three rebounds for the Trojans, who only had its top two scorers, Grant Johnson and Zac Pitney, attempt 10 totals shots. Pitney and Johnson, both averaging 15 points per night, finished with seven and four points, respectively, but added a combined 13 rebounds.
Drew Bollenbacher led Argos with nine points.
In the JV game, Triton’s Quentin Thornburg scored nine points to lead the Trojans to a 36-32 victory. Argos’ Mikey Crum led all scorers with 13 points.
Triton (10-5) and Argos (9-8) will both become very accustomed with Caston in the coming days, as the Trojans will host the Comets Saturday and the Dragons will visit Caston Tuesday night.
