Wawasee Swimming: Warriors Demolish Knights
KENDALLVILLE — The Wawasee boys swimming team enjoyed a win Tuesday night. The Warriors traveled to East Noble and demolished the Knights 134-52. The Warriors won 11 of the night’s 12 events to help fan the flames of victory.
Brett Willaman, Jared Krugman, Brady Robinson, Austin Dunithan, Jake Cowan and Eric Park were all individual winners on the night.
Willaman had a lifetime best in winning the 200 free (1:55.54). Krugman took first in both the 200 IM (2:08.19) and 100 breast (1:06.78). Robinson was first in the 50 free (23.30) and 100 back (1:01.00). Cowan placed first in the 100 fly (1:00.31) while Park won the 500 free (5:29.30). Dunithan (194.75) was first in the evening’s diving portion.
Wawasee swept the relays winning the 200 medley with a time of 1:56.75, the 200 free at 1:38.54 and the 400 free at 3:43.75.
East Noble’s lone win came in the 100 free as Griffen Dafforn-Koehler won the event with a time of 52.40.
Alex Mathew (200 IM), Jacob Krugman (100 fly, 100 back), Willaman (100 free, 200 free), Collin Thomas (100 free), Isaiah Metcalf (100 breast), Aaron Bartman (100 free), Cowan (100 breast), Dane Jenkins (diving) and Ira Kerlin (diving) were all listed for having lifetime bests in their respective events.
Wawasee (4-4) swims in the sectional at Concord on Feb. 18.
