Milford Woman Sentenced For Meth Charges
WARSAW — A Milford woman was sentenced this morning for methamphetamine charged stemming from an arrest in 2016.
Lisa Klinge, 208 W. Fifth St., Milford, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and possession of chemical reagents both level six felonies. She also pleaded guilty to violating probation.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 15, 2016, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a non working headlight and license plate light. Klinge was the driver who advised her driver’s license was suspended. Officers searched the vehicle and found seven syringes, a box of pseudoephedrine, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine, give batteries and two metal spoons.
During the sentencing, Klinge’s attorney Jay Rigdon noted her substance abuse problem. “I think you can tell the primary thing you have to be aware of is the substance abuse problem.”
When given the chance to speak, Klinge apologized to the court. “I’m sorry,” she said. “I have been on drugs since I’ve been very young. I’ve never been taught the tools to live a sober life.”
Judge Michael Reed sentenced Klinge to one year at the Indiana Department of Corrections for each drug charge. She also must serve the balance of her previous one-year suspended sentence for violating probation. All sentences are to be served consecutively.
