One Flown From US 6 Accident
SYRACUSE — One individual has been flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, by Samaritan Air Ambulance following an accident on US 6, west of SR 13 and north of Syracuse.
It is unknown if a second individual was transported to an area hospital or signed off on medical attention. Lutheran EMS was called to the scene.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, near 15461 US 6, Syracuse. A single vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Syracuse Police, Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Turkey Creek Township Fire Department and EMS along with Benton Township Fire Department responded. A landing zone was set up in the Syracuse Tech Park, near the scene.
US 6 was shut down until the investigation was complete and the vehicle removed from the scene.
