NorthWood Basketball: Bope, Bobcats Top Panthers
HAMLET – The NorthWood girls basketball team could not overcome a slow start Tuesday night.
The Panthers dug an early deficit and could not get out of it in dropping a 48-40 final to host Oregon-Davis in a non-conference contest.
The Bobcats raced to a 13-3 lead after the opening period and led 25-12 at halftime.
Taitlyn Trenshaw paced the Panthers with 15 points. Kenzie Bergman scored seven points and Savannah Feenstra added six for NorthWood.
Alexander Bope netted 26 points to lead the winners.
NorthWood falls to 15-8, while the Bobcats improve to 14-6 with their sixth win in the last seven games.
NorthWood won the junior varsity game 65-44. Kate Rulli led the Panthers with 18 points. Kira Robinson scored 15 points and Emily Demitruk 10 as the NorthWood JV improved to 17-4.
NorthWood hosts conference foe Warsaw and OD entertains Elkhart Central in regular-season finales on Thursday night.
