LCA Basketball: Big Rally Rescues Cornerstone
WINONA LAKE – Cornerstone Christian was up against it, but figured it out to the tune of a 61-56 win at Lakeland Christian Academy Tuesday night.
The Cornerstone boys trailed 19-4 to the Cougars, but rallied within a bucket by halftime, then used a 27-point fourth quarter to shock the home side.
Landon Twombly had one of the busiest games of his career, scoring 13 points but pulling down 12 rebounds and dishing six helpers for the Cougars. Twombly had eight rebounds and four assists in the first half. Josh McDaniel also had a huge first half, scoring 14 of his team-high 26 points. The junior guard also had five rebounds and two assists.
Elijah Raymond added nine points and five rebounds for LCA.
Quantrez Scott scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter as Cornerstone rallied from four down in the fourth. Darius Williams added 14 points, Louis Thomas had 11 points and Jamarcus Eldridge recorded eight points and nine rebounds.
LCA falls to 6-9 overall and will visit Clinton Christian on Saturday.
