Wawasee Basketball: Warriors Take Down Plymouth
PLYMOUTH — The Wawasee girls basketball team moved to 3-3 in Northern Lakes Conference play following a win over Plymouth Saturday night. The Warriors used a big second half to score a 48-31 victory over the Pilgrims.
Wawasee led 15-14 at the half but scored 33 points in the second half to fuel the victory. Wawasee was 20-23 from the charity stripe, 13 of those makes came in the fourth quarter.
Kabrea Rostochak led all players with 10 points for Wawasee. Casey Schroeder, Hannah Haines and Aubrey Kuhn all added eight points each for the visitors. Plymouth was led by Kenzie Quissell’s eight-point effort.
The victory marked the second in a row for the Warriors over the Pilgrims.
Wawasee (9-11, 3-3) hosts Class 3-A No. 8 Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday night at the Hardwood Teepee. The Warriors close out their season by hosting Concord next Thursday. A win against the Minutemen would clinch the first winning record in conference for Wawasee since the 2010-11 season.
Plymouth won the JV contest 45-26. Wawasee is now 14-6 on the year.
