LCA Basketball: Ladies Roll To Big Win
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team came ready to play from the opening tip-off Saturday.
The hosts rolled to a 16-0 lead after the opening quarter en route to topping Traders Point Christian by a 51-15 final.
Hope Fancil continued her high-scoring exploits to pace the Cougars to their third straight win. Fancil tossed in a game-high 23 points. She also had 10 steals and four blocked shots for the winners.
Anna Reimink had a strong all-around effort with nine points, seven rebounds and five steals for LCA.
Brady Gross chipped in with five points and six rebounds for the Cougars. Jess Slone had four points and five rebounds, while Heather Plastow had four points and Maddie Paris two.
Melissa Goss had a big performance with four points to go with 10 rebounds. She also dished out six assists and nabbed 10 steals in the win.
Abigail Fishel had three rebounds, while Hannah Salmons had a pair and Winnie Kyandalubs one.
The Cougars, who led 33-8 at halftime, piled up 33 steals as a team in the win.
LCA, now 11-9, plays at Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Thursday night. Traders Point, which falls to 7-4, hosts Bethesda Christian on Monday night.
