Triton Basketball: Trojans Bid Adieu To Cavs
LAKEVILLE – Triton made its farewell from the Bi-County girls basketball tournament a bang, whooping Culver 40-4 Thursday night in the consolation brackets of the week-long event.
Triton pitched a shutout in the first half, taking a 24-0 lead into the break against the struggling Cavaliers. Triton had just muscled up on Culver, 58-9, last Friday in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup at Triton.
Hannah Wanemacher reached double figures in the scoring column to pace Triton, which moves to 7-13 overall. Culver slides to 1-17 overall.
Triton will shift back into HNAC play to wrap up the regular season with home games Thursday against Pioneer and Friday against North Judson. The final game against North Judson could decide the conference, with North Judson currently 5-0 and Triton sitting at 5-1, its lone loss to LaVille, 37-36 in overtime, back on Nov. 30. Triton is the defending conference champion in its second year of existence.
