First Fridays Ice Sculpture Applications Due Soon
WARSAW — Downtown First Fridays is celebrating the kick off of 2017 with its annual Fire & Ice theme. The event will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the courthouse square in Warsaw.
Businesses, organizations and even individuals still have time to complete an application for a fire and ice sculpture. A 300 or 600 pound block of ice can be used for the sculpture and applicants will have a say in the design. Applications can be found online and are due by Friday, Jan. 20.
The carvings will take place starting at noon and continue until 9 p.m. There will also be ice skating in the plaza sponsored by Julia Morre, 1st Federal of Rochester and B. Moore. The public is welcome to rent skates at the event or bring their own.
