Valley Basketball: Bring On The ‘Cats
PERU — The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team was certainly not caught looking ahead Tuesday night. With a huge conference showdown coming Thursday night, Valley had every excuse to be peaking ahead on the schedule, but the Lady Vikes stayed focused and picked up a big win instead. No. 7 Valley rolled Peru 80-30 to move to 6-0 in league play and stay atop the Three Rivers Conference.
Valley led 28-5 after the first quarter and 48-15 at the half, allowing the visitors to all but put it into auto pilot the final two quarters. Anne Secrest and Addy Miller each tallied 18 points in the win while Hannah Dunn scored 15 of her own for the Vikings.
Valley improves to 16-4 overall and will head to South Whitley Thursday night for a TRC clash with Whitko. The Wildcats fell 48-46 at Wawasee Tuesday night but are ranked No. 1 in Class 2-A and 16-3 overall mark and a 4-0 TRC record. Valley won last year’s contest 56-32.
