WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after sending provocative messages to a minor that stayed the night at his residence on New Year’s Eve.
Rodney Lynn Mock, 61, 10 Henderson Drive, Warsaw, is being charged with solicitation of a child between 14 and 16 years old, a level 5 felony.
On Jan. 1, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department spoke with an adult who advised two minors had spent New Year’s eve night at Mock’s residence. When one of the minor females woke up on Jan. 1, she found text messages of a sexual nature from Mock. The minor provided the messages to the adult and to the officers.
The officer viewed the messages and discovered they began on Jan. 1 around 2 a.m. The messages included statements like, “I’m playing with myself right now if you want to watch me,” and “Want me to lick your private parts?”
At 11:45 a.m., a message states “Sorry for what all I said last night, I was drunk and I will go to jail for a long time what I said to you sorry.”
Officers spoke with Mock who advised that the minors are friends and were at his residence during Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Mock admitted to sending the minor female multiple messages that requested her come out of the bedroom. He further admitted that he asked the minor to let him lick her private spot and not to tell anyone because he would be in a lot of trouble. Mock had deleted all of the messages he sent to the female.
Mock was arrested on Jan. 6 with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
