WARSAW — In a coordinated effort between Warsaw Community High School and the Warsaw Police Department, an attempt to sell purported LSD/acid at school was thwarted Friday morning. A WPD school resource officer received a complaint of the use and dealing of different drugs at the Warsaw Community High School. While the name of the suspect was unknown, information into the phone used by the suspect was located. The school resource officer made contact with the Warsaw Narcotics Unit, and narcotics investigators began to research the information, looking for the suspect.
Investigators believed they had located the juvenile suspect and furthermore, found additional evidence that a deal may be taking place on Friday morning, on are around school property. With that information, school resource officers informed school administrators. The suspect was interviewed and found to be in possession of a large amount of purported LSD/Acid.
Narcotics investigators, along with the unit’s single purpose narcotics detection K-9, were summoned to the high school to take over the investigation. The juvenile was taken into custody and subsequently, a search warrant was granted to the Warsaw Narcotics Unit for a search of the juvenile’s residence. Indiana State Police assisted the Narcotics Unit with the execution of the search warrant. Additional drugs, paraphernalia, along with evidence of dealing were discovered at that time. Investigators have filed charges with the prosecutor’s office for Possession with Intent to Deal in a Schedule I Controlled Substance, on school property, a level 5 felony. Additional charges were filed in relation to items located in the residence.
