ROCHESTER — The Whitko girls basketball team continued its winning ways with a big 53-25 win over Three Rivers Conference rival Rochester Saturday night. It was the first time the Lady Wildcats had won at Rochester this century.
A 22-17 lead late in the first half ballooned to 28-17 before the break followed by two big shots from Brianna Cumberland. Cumberland hit a big three near the one-minute mark and then beat the buzzer from a shot near half court to close the second quarter. Cumberland finished the night with 11 points.
Aly Reiff led the team in scoring with 13 points as eight Wildcats scored three or more points. Rochester’s Kennedy Musselman led all scorers with 17 points.
Whitko improves to 14-2 overall and 4-0 in the TRC. Whitko hosts Norwell this Thursday for senior night.
