Wrestling
Tippecanoe Valley competed in the Wabash Super Dual on Saturday, Nov. 19 and finished 1-4 on the day.
Valley defeated Heritage 42-27 for its lone win in the five-round super. Valley lost to host Wabash 41-27, Luers 42-31, Southern Wells 54-24 and North Miami 33-30.
Valley had two competitors earn four wins in Joseph Irons at 170 and Tyler Manuszak at 182. Irons had three pins among his totals and Manuszak had a pin and decision.
Haley Hoover at 106, Jacob Eherenman at 113, Chevy Teeter at 145, Jon Humes at 152 and Isaac Randall at 160 all had three mat wins. Devin Bandow at 120 and Jordan Owens at 138 each had two wins.
Tippy will work again Thursday at home against Caston.
Boys Basketball
Scoring was at a premium Saturday night in Plymouth, where the host Pilgrims knocked off Tippecanoe Valley 48-37.
Plymouth scored 20 points in the second quarter to take a 30-19 lead into the lockerroom, matching Valley in the second half to pull out the win.
Nick Felke led the Pilgrims (8-4) with 18 points, four rebounds and four steals while Cam Dennie chipped in 11 points and four rebounds. Plymouth has won the last three games in the series and 11 of the last 13 matchups.
Plymouth held Alec Craig to a season-low two points on 0-6 shooting, only getting a pair of free throws to fall. The star guard did have five assists. Jarod Duzenbery and Tanner Trippiedi led the Vikings with 10 points each and combining for eight rebounds.
Tippecanoe Valley (6-6) will visit Rochester next Friday in a Three Rivers Conference matchup.
