Sheriff Confirms At Least Six People Shot At Fort Lauderdale Airport
FORT LAUDERDALE-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. — According Broward Sheriff Fire, there are at least six people shot at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with multiple fatalities.
FLL officials said the shooting took place in the lower level baggage claim area, in Terminal 2, at around 12:55 p.m., Friday.
There was an active shooter call at one point. By 1 p.m., one subject was in custody.
Broward County’s Sheriff said the suspect is a lone shooter but had killed multiple victims. A number of people have been transported to a hospital.
The extent of the confirmed six victims’ injuries is unknown at this time. Officials have not specified how many have died.
