LCA Basketball: ECA Clips Cougars
WINONA LAKE – A big second-half performance carried Elkhart Christian Academy to a 65-40 win over Lakeland Christian Academy in prep boys basketball action Friday night.
The Eagles led just 29-17 at halftime before outscoring the host Cougars 36-23 in the second half. ECA outscored LCA 22-8 in the pivotal third period to take command.
Josh McDaniel scored a game-high 18 points to lead the way for LCA.
Jake Harmon had nine points for the Cougars, who dropped to 4-6 with their third straight loss. Jeremy Gross had five points and Noah Twombly and Landon Twombly each had three as did Trae Harris for the Cougars.
The tandem of Fross and Noah Twombly each had five rebounds for LCA.
Tyler Litwiller led ECA with 12 points. Weston Sage scored 11 points for the winners, who improved to 4-2 with their fourth win in the last five games.
LCA plays at Argos and ECA plays at Bremen on Tuesday night.
