Boys Varsity Basketball
The Wawasee varsity boys basketball team fell to 4-5 Tuesday night following a 57-46 defeat at the hands of DeKalb.
The Warriors, who were without head coach Jon Everingham, were outscored 17-10 in the third quarter after being tied at the half. Wawasee was 11-17 from the line while the Barons were 19-27. Tyler Smith had his best offensive performance of the season to date with a team-high 17 points. Trevon Coleman once again hit double figures, as he has every game this season, with an 11-point effort. DeKalb was led by Logan Kruse’s 26 points.
Wawasee will play at NorthWood Friday night.
The JV Warriors moved to 8-1 with a 35-27 victory over DeKalb. No stats were provided.
Freshman Basketball
Both Wawasee freshman basketball teams were in action against Memorial Tuesday night. The boys fell 31-30 to move to 5-2 on the season while the girls improved to 5-1 with a 25-16 win.
Michael Hammer led the Wawasee boys with 12 points while Austin Baker added five. Emily Davis led the girls with 14 points while both Jadison Rostochak and Madison Mottern had five points each.
The boys host East Noble Thursday night while the girls will host NorthWood on Saturday.
