How to Succeed at a Job Fair: 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 10
The Career Center will be hosting a workshop designed to assist people with how to navigate and get the most out of a job fair event. The Workshop will cater to client’s questions and will present them with tools such as how to dress for a job fair and how to communicate in a way that ensures you get an interview. Participants will also receive a 25% discount card to shop for business casual attire at the Goodwill Retail Store attached to the Career Center. All Goodwill Career Center Workshops are free and open to the Public.
Mock Interview Session: 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 11
The Goodwill Career Center will be hosting open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these sessions will help prepare you for the types of questions that could possibly be asked in an interview.
Job Fair: noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Warsaw Career Center will host a Job Fair featuring the following companies: Adecco (staffing for Zimmer Biomet), Texmo Precision Casting, Maple Leaf Farms, Kimco Services and Premiere concepts. In addition, Trine University and Ivy Tech Community College will be available with education information. Applicants should dress professionally, bring a current resume and be prepared to interview that day. Those who visit the career center a week prior to this event can participate in one-on-one mock interviews or receive help updating a resume.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel: 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Thursday, Jan. 26
This two class series introduces participants to the Microsoft Excel program. The course will include a series of tutorials and hands on use with Excel. The goal is to help attendees become comfortable with the tools and basic features of the software: designing a spreadsheet, setting boarders, entering data into CDS, formatting cells, and searching for data with filters. This course is designed for beginning Excel users, but more advanced users are welcome to participate as we can customize the class to their skill levels.

Elkhart Community Career Center
Job Fair: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5
Help at Home and Scribe America will be attending our Job Fair with information regarding the positions they have available, and applications for candidates to complete. Help at Home is currently looking for individuals to fill the following positions: Personal Care Assistants, CNA / HHA and Direct Support. Scribe America is hiring Medical Scribes to work in the Elkhart and St. Joe Emergency Rooms, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, ENT, and Podiatry offices. They are hiring for part time or full time positions on first, second and third shifts. Applicants should dress professionally, bring a resume and be prepared to interview that day.
Mobile Device Tips Workshop: 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and Tuesday, Jan. 24. and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 and Thursday, Jan. 26
Staff from the Elkhart Goodwill Community Career Center will be available to help individuals who may have received a new mobile device for Christmas and are not sure how to operate it. This session will include tips for operating a new tablet, e-reader or iPad. You will learn the basics about the device, be able to access the Internet, install apps, surf the web and have a better understanding of how it works. Individuals are encouraged to bring their device for hands on assistance.
Real Services Guest Speaker: 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18
A family Development Consultant from Real Services will be available at the Elkhart Community Career Center on Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Real Services is a non-profit organization offering assistance to individuals and families in need in the community. The consultant will discuss various programs and services that are available. Their primary programs are: Energy Assistance, Family Development, Self Sufficiency and Budgeting. There will be an information table with material on hand regarding Real Services programs, and someone will be available to answer questions regarding their services.
Elwood Staffing of Goshen Hiring Event: 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19
Elwood Staffing of Goshen will conduct a Hiring Event to interview for Assemblers, Packers, Warehouse and Forklift positions. These positions are temporary opportunities, but may lead to employment based on performance.
Health Insurance and You: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21
A representative from Heart City Health Center will be available to help residents of Elkhart County understand their health insurance and answer any questions they may have – regardless of what healthcare provider they have. We encourage anyone with questions about their health care insurance to attend. No registration or enrollment is necessary; no commitment to Heart City Health Center is required.
