Triton To Hold State Of School Meetings
BOURBON — The Triton School Corporation will be holding state of the school meetings at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, and Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Triton Jr.-Sr. High School auditorium.
This is a follow-up to the meeting Triton held three years ago. The intent is to keep our community aware of financial and educational issues that are facing Triton. Several area schools are looking at referendums, and school representatives heard our citizens are wondering about the situation at Triton, so this meeting will update the community on the school’s financial status.
Triton also has some serious facility needs that we’ll need to finance through bond projects. The school is looking at a new roof at the high school, new heating (HVAC) system at the elementary and serious repairs to the old Bourbon gym. There are various ways the school could approach this, so they looking to the community for input since facility needs are addressed through local property taxes.
Interested patrons are invited to these meetings to learn about the financial state of the school and give input regarding possible building projects to address facility needs.
