Credit Unions To Merge
WARSAW — Via Credit Union and United Credit Union have announced the intent to merge, effective Feb. 1, 2017.
In August, the Board of Directors of both credit unions approved the merger and United CU’s membership approved in September. More recently, the final approval from both state and federal regulators occurred. As part of the merger, ViaCU is committed to employ all United CU employees, as well as maintain United CU’s branch in Warsaw.
“The merger with ViaCU will expand the products, services and conveniences we can offer our members,” said Angela Gross, United CU’s CEO. “It will also overcome many of the challenges we face as a small credit union, such as rising regulatory and compliance costs.”
David Abernathy, ViaCU’s president/CEO added, “I am excited about the opportunities this merger will present to both credit unions. The merger will provide additional locations for all members.”
