Dorothy Lavon Jackson
Dorothy Lavon Jackson, 98, Rochester, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
On Oct. 16, 1918, Dorothy was born in Marshall County. She was the cherished daughter of Jonas and Cora Dudgeon Stockberger. Growing up she shared her childhood with two brothers Norman and Gorman.
In Logansport, on Dec. 5, 1941, Dorothy married the love of her life Clarence Jackson. They shared 43 years of life’s adventures. Sadly he passed away on June 5, 1984.
The Jackson’s enjoyed annually planting a truck patch vegetable garden. Then sharing the harvest with family and special friends. Dorothy was a homemaker. She also worked in the maintenance department at the Fulton County Courthouse.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her niece, Jan Russell and husband Elbert of Warsaw. She will be missed by her many friends and family at Rochester’s Life Care Center.
Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, beloved husband Clarence and two brothers: Norman and Gorman Stockberger.
A celebration of the life of Dorothy Lavon Jackson will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Chaplain Jason See will officiate. Burial will follow in the Richland Center IOOF Cemetery.
