INDIANAPOLIS — A Metro Police officer is being credited with saving seven tiny newborn puppies.
Officer Charleswood found the puppies in a dumpster – umbilical stumps still attached. This weekend’s weather is dangerous for anyone, but for these tiny babies, it would have quickly become deadly. He took off his heavy duty jacket and wrapped them up carefully, keeping them warm while some creative arrangements were made to find these babies a safe place to land so late at night.
When he delivered them to the door of a foster home with “Every Dog Counts Rescue,” they were all still snuggled in, safe and sound. The rescue has since worked to get them warmed up and fed.
