North Webster Public Library News And Events
NORTH WEBSTER — With area schools closed for Christmas break, parents will be looking for ways to keep the kids entertained. Bring them to the North Webster Community Public Library for Family Bingo 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29. It’s lots of fun for all ages with prizes for everyone. No one goes home empty handed. Crafts and Stories will also be held every Tuesday during Christmas break at 4 p.m. The kids work on crafts while listening to stories read by Miss Debbie.
Of course reading is a constructive way to keep the kids entertained and learning when school is not in session. The youth department has a large selection of children’s books for all ages and reading levels including books for teens along with a teen reading area to hang out. The youth department computers are also available with games and learning activities.
Library services are available at any time from your home computer, tablet or smart phone. TumbleBooks™, animated talking picture books and real-along books, can be accessed from the library’s website by using your library card and PIN. Games and videos not requiring a library card can be accessed as well.
Got grandchildren or young relatives visiting over the holidays? Check out a Book Buddy Kit to keep them entertained. With 24 kits to choose from, each themed kit contains books and quality toys that work together to teach children while they play.
The adult services department has plenty to help with holidays, too. From cookbooks for your Christmas baking to decorating ideas, entertaining and gift making, the library has the resources you need to make the holidays special. Check out some Christmas CDs to set the mood for your holiday parties or borrow a Christmas movie for some family time. And when the holidays are over, put your feet up with a good book and relax.
The library will be closed all day on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24; Monday, Dec. 26 and Saturday, Dec. 31.
