Valley Basketball: Peru Scorers Boost Tigers
PERU – Peru had four players reach double figures in scoring to lift themselves to a 70-54 boys basketball win over visiting Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday night.
Bailey Gardner led the way for the Tigers with 18 points and seven rebounds. Trevon Crowe had 14 points, Jeremiah Johnson had 13 points and six assists, and Jonah Lester had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Peru also won the defensive battle, taking a 29-16 advantage off the glass, eight of those offensive that led to 10 points.
Alec Craig led the Vikings with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists. Jarod Duzenbery finished with 14 points and two blocks and Keith Wright tossed in eight points.
Peru took a five-point lead at the half, 36-31, and spread it to nine after three before outscoring Valley 14-7 in the fourth quarter.
Tippecanoe Valley (2-4, 0-1 TRC) will host Whitko Friday while Peru (2-3, 2-0 TRC) will visit Southwood Saturday.
