Silver Lake Man Arrested Again For Failing To Disclose HIV Status To Additional Partners
SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man has been charged again for not disclosing information about his HIV status to three of his sexual partners.
Travis Spoor, 37, 10255 South CR 200W, Silver Lake, is being charged with four counts of malicious mischief after having sexual relations with three woman without telling them he had HIV.
Spoor was previously charged in February in Kosciusko County after he failed to tell a woman he was dating he was infected with HIV. He was arrested on two counts of malicious mischief, both level six felonies.
According to police documents, Spoor was first arrested in February after a victim told police that Spoor had failed to tell her about his HIV status. She stated she had met Spoor through mutual friends on Facebook. On Nov. 4, 2015, the two began dating. Prior to their sexual relationship, Spoor denied having any type of disease. The couple engaged in an unprotected sexual relationship for about a month. The relationship ended in December.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim informed police when she was with Spoor he always carried a pill container and took a lot of pills. On Dec. 27, 2015, a friend told the victim that Spoor had HIV. The victim contacted Spoor, who denied he had HIV.
During the investigation, an officer obtained subpoena for medical records and discovered Spoor was diagnosed with HIV on Dec. 22, 2012.
In December of 2012, Spoor signed a Duty to Warn form from the Indiana Department of Health that required him to disclose his HIV status to his sexual partners.
The newest charge has been filed in the Allen County Superior Court after Spoor had sexual relations with three women in Fort Wayne without informing them of his HIV status.
According to the Journal Gazette, three women contacted police after seeing news articles about Spoor’s arrest in February in Kosciusko County for failing to tell his sexual partner about his HIV status.
Two of the women met Spoor online, and one met him through a mutual friend. All three of the women had unprotected, consensual sex with Spoor without his disclosure of his HIV status.
According to the Journal Gazette, the three women stated they had gone to clinics for testing, however it was not clear whether any of them were HIV positive.
