Douglas Lynn Riddle, 61, Akron, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016.

On April 26, 1955, Doug was the firstborn to Charles Lee and Lola F. Pierce Riddle. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Denise and two brothers Ron and Duane.  With great pride Doug graduated from Rochester High School in 1973. During his high school years Doug was a member of the brass section playing the tuba with the Zebra band.  He was also a member of Future Farmers of America.

In Plymouth on Oct. 15, 1983, Doug and Peggy Rater were married.  From their union came two wonderful children Melissa and James.

Devoted to the orthopedic industry, Doug worked for several companies in Warsaw over the years. He was a member of the Eagles, Rochester. As an American sportsman he  loved to bowl, golf and hunt.

Left to cherish Doug’s memories are his wife, Peggy; daughter, Melissa Lynn Riddle, of Washington;  son, James Douglas Riddle, of Akron; mother: Lola Riddle; sister, Denise Williams and husband Randy; two brothers, Ron Riddle and wife Judy; Duane Riddle and wife Donna  all of Rochester;  three sister-in-laws, Gerry Rater of Winamac, Linda Kucera and husband Doug of Plymouth, Jeannie Nelson of Logansport, two brothers Leroy Rater and wife Susie of Medaryville, Bob Rater of Anderson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   Preceding Doug in death are his father, Charles Lee Riddle, his grandparents, Charles E. and Irma Riddle and James and Gracie Pierce,  infant sister Janice Riddle and his in-laws, Roy and Virginia Rater.

 A celebration of the life of Douglas Lynn Riddle will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St, Rochester with Pastor Martin Furrow officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10-1 on Monday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Richland Center IOOF.
