Valley Basketball: Glenn Tips Valley In Double OT
WALKERTON – It took 40 minutes to separate Tippecanoe Valley and John Glenn, the Falcons coming out on top 66-62 in double overtime Saturday night in boys basketball.
Matt Strong scored 27 points and Zac Mago had 23 points to lead the Falcons to victory. Strong was 10-12 from the line and the two added seven combined rebounds.
Alec Craig had another big night in the scoring column, finishing with 25 points and chipped in four assists and three rebounds for the Vikings. Jarod Duzenbery had 19 points and five rebounds and Keith Wright had 10 points.
Glenn led 33-25 at the half, only for Valley to tie the game at 43 heading into the fourth quarter, where both teams scored 10 points apiece. The two matched six-point total in the first overtime, only for the Vikings to be held to just three points in the sixth frame.
Valley (2-3) will visit Peru Tuesday to open its Three Rivers Conference play. John Glenn (3-2) will entertain Marian Friday night.
