Valley Basketball: Vikings Power Past North Miami
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball coach Chris Kindig noted Wednesday that he was worried about the speed and athleticism of North Miami coming into Friday night’s matchup. One could guess North Miami was worried about the same thing.
Ten different Valley played scored in the game, and a 20-6 first quarter by the Vikings eased Kindig’s worries in a 67-35 romp over the Warriors.
Anne Secrest had her usual yeoman’s effort in the victory, going 8-9 from the floor and 4-4 from the line for 20 points, and added seven rebounds (four offensive), four steals, two assists and a block. Sophie Bussard added eight points and eight rebounds and Emily Peterson got it done on both ends with five points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Meredith Brouyette chipped in seven points, six boards and five assists, Addy Miller had 10 points and four steals and Hannah Dunn had six points and three rebounds.
North Miami (6-4, 2-2 TRC) had Adi Hartley lead the club with eight points, Maryann Freeman and Ashley Lefebvre had 7 points each, and Babs Bolser finished with six points.
Tippecanoe Valley (9-2, 2-0 TRC) will host Winamac Thursday before the huge showdown next Saturday at Whitko.
