NorthWood Basketball: Hot Start Lifts Lady Panthers
NAPPANEE – A roaring start for NorthWood sent the girls basketball squad to a 51-31 win at The Pit against visiting Elkhart Memorial.
NorthWood raced out to a 15-3 lead in the first quarter, led by eight of Riley Hershberger’s game-high 16 points. Kenzie Bergman scored 11 of her 14 points in the first half.
The Lady Panthers (8-2, 2-0 Northern Lakes Conference) held Memorial (3-5, 0-1 NLC) to just four field goals in the first half. Sierra Peete paced Memorial with nine points.
The junior squad from NorthWood moved to 10-0 overall after a 33-24 victory over Memorial. A 16-4 second quarter did the trick for NorthWood to separate from the Chargers. Kate Rulli led the winners with 10 points and Kira Robinson tossed in seven points.
NorthWood will visit Jimtown Thursday evening.
