WINONA LAKE – Standout libero Caylie Teel was named an All-American to cap off a tremendous season for Grace’s volleyball team.

Teel was honored as an NCCAA Second Team All-American after leading Grace’s defensive efforts this fall.

The sophomore led Grace with 621 digs, good for No. 10 in a single season in school history. She averaged 5.6 digs per set in Crossroads League play, which was the third best mark in the league.

Teel was named the league’s Defender of the Week twice during the 2016 season.

Additionally, Grace was honored for its excellence in the classroom. The Lady Lancers boasted seven Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, most in the Crossroads League and fourth-most in the NAIA. Taylor Baird, Kari Feddema, Megan Johnson, Angie Mack, Sara Miller, Sierra Smith and Grace Woolsey all earned the academic distinction. To become a Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.5 and achieve upperclassman status.

The Lady Lancers finished the year 14-19 and were fifth in the league with an 8-10 mark.
