Penn Soccer: Star Lynch Earns All-American Accolades
MISHAWAKA – Penn High School soccer star Kristina Lynch was named a first-team All-American again earlier this week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Lynch, a junior, led the Kingsmen to the Class 2-A state championship in October. Lynch had a goal and an assist as No. 1 ranked Penn beat Brebeuf 2-0 to claim the program’s first-ever state title. The Kingsmen had lost to Brebeuf in the 2015 state title match. Penn defeated Warsaw 7-1 in a semifinal game of the Goshen Regional en route to its state championship.
Lynch, who was named to the first team for the second straight year, paced the Kingsmen to a 22-0-1 record this fall. The Florida State recruit led the state in scoring as she racked up 38 goals and 26 assists. Lynch is the all-time leader in both goals and points already at Penn with 86 goals and 49 assists in 68 prep contests.
Lynch, along with others named to the All-American team, will be honored as the NSCAA luncheon in January in Los Angeles.
