Eloise S. Juillerat
Eloise S. Juillerat, 95, formerly of Churubusco, died at 10:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at Sacred Heart Home in Avilla where she had been a resident since October 2011.
She was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Whitley County, a daughter of Ratio “Ted” and Callie (Herstel) Smith. With an exception of a short time in Lagro, her formative years were spent in Washington Township, Whitley County.
On Oct. 23, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ralph V. Juillerat. They made their first home in Jefferson Township for ten years, moved to Waldon Lake for two years and later Fort Wayne before moving to Churubusco. Mr. Juillerat died April 28, 2006.
She was employed at Coyle Engineering in Roanoke for six years, helped open the first Kmart at Northcrest in Fort Wayne and later Channel 21 traffic manager for over 18 years retiring in 1983.
Her church membership was Beacon Light Chapel in Churubusco.
Surviving relatives include two granddaughters, Michele (Michael) Morris, Fort Wayne; and Jill Keim, Churubusco; two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Norma Juillerat, Churubusco; three step granddaughters: Kathy (Dennis) Konger, Fort Wayne; Karen (Michael) Peelman, Dallas, Texas; and Karla (Roger) Linvill, Columbia City; six step-great grandchildren; and several step-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of over 68 years, Eloise was preceded in death by a son, Larry Juillerat; a brother, Lester Smith; and two sisters, Lois Blanchard and Orpha Parkison.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
