Intoxicated Pierceton Woman Arrested After Kicking EMT, Trying To Escape Hospital
PIERCETON — An intoxicated Pierceton woman was arrested after a battery complaint led to her resisting law enforcement, kicking an EMT and refusing to cooperate at the hospital.
Christy Ousley, 42, 8280 East US 30, Pierceton, is being charged with battery to a public official, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
On Nov. 19, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a battery complaint. When he arrived, he spoke with Ousley who was extremely intoxicated. Ousley could barely stand up and told the officer that she was intoxicated because her boyfriend had brought home some alcoholic beverages.
Ousley stated that she had been beaten by her boyfriend. She had red marks on her neck and face and a laceration on the back of her head. The boyfriend stated that Ousley had been fighting with another female and he had separated the fight. The boyfriend was scratched by Ousley while trying to separate the females. The officer observed the scratch marks on his neck.
The officer then spoke with the other female involved. She stated that Ousley was drunk and began throwing things at her and the boyfriend. She said that Ousley was trying to pick a fight with everyone in the household. At one point, Ousley grabbed her boyfriend’s testicles and said she was going to cut them off while he was sleeping.
Ousley was too intoxicated to make any decisions in regards to medical treatment so the responding officer escorted her to an ambulance. While on the way to the ambulance, Ousley started resisting and tried to fight the officer.
While the EMTs were transporting Ousley to the hospital, she removed the restraints and kicked an EMT two times. Officers responded and placed Ousley in handcuffs and strapped her to the back of the cot.
While at the hospital, Ousley was screaming and ignored all requests to be quiet. She attempted to walk out of the hospital and the officer told her that she was under arrest and not free to leave the hospital. As the officer escorted Ousley back to the emergency room, Ousley fought with the officer and attempted to leave again.
Ousley was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 2 with a $2,500 cash bond.
