Boys Basketball

The Whitko boys basketball team moved to 3-0 Saturday evening following a thrashing of Bellmont. The Wildcats put up 26 points in the first quarter on their way to a dominating 76-46 win.

Nate Walpole led all scorers with a whopping 36 points on the night. River West added 19 while Spencer Sroufe had 10. Sroufe also led the team on the boards with nine rebounds.

Whitko will host Central Noble Tuesday night.

Whitko’s JV fell 44-21. Cody Swick led the Wildcats with 10 points.

Girls Basketball

It was a record-setting night for the Lady Wildcats as they won their ninth game in a row a program best. No. 1 Whitko cruised past North Miami 64-36 to move to 9-0 on the year.

Whitko held its opponent to four points in both the first and third quarters to gain big separation to start each half. Aly Reiff led the way for the ‘Cats with 31 points. Hannah Yohe had seven points and Kennedy Krull tallied six.

North Miami was led by Adria Hartley’s 11 points.

The Lady ‘Cats return to action Friday at Manchester and then will play Saturday at Penn.
