LCA Basketball: Hamilton Stops Cougars
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team came up on the short end of a 42-23 final to Hamilton Saturday.
The visiting Marines led 16-5 after the first quarter and 34-9 at halftime en route to the win.
Hope Fancil led the way for LCA with 12 points. The junior also had three rebounds, three steals and four blocked shots in the game.
Jess Slone scored seven points and had nine rebounds for the Cougars. Brady Gross had one point and 10 rebounds and Melissa Goss had one point and three steals. Maddie Paris added two points.
Kenzie Smyth scored 19 points and Emma Gaff 14 for Hamilton, which won its fourth straight game.
LCA (4-5) plays at Bethany Christian and Hamilton (4-4) plays at Fort Wayne Blackhawk on Tuesday night.
