LCA Basketball: Cougars Fall To Caston
FULTON – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team could not overcome a slow start Tuesday night.
The Cougars rallied late before falling 38-32 to host Caston in prep action.
The Comets led 31-15 after three periods before LCA outscored the hosts 17-7 in the final frame. LCA trailed 6-2 after the first quarter and 18-8 at halftime in the contest.
Hope Fancil had a huge game for LCA. The junior finished with a game-high 20 points to go with four rebounds and five steals for the Cougars.
Heather Plastow scored four points and Jess Slone three for LCA. Brady Gross had two points and the trio of Anna Reimink, Melissa Goss and Maddie Paris each had one. Slone had six rebounds and Gross five. Reimink had six rebounds to go with six assists and five steals.
Megan Evans netted 12 points and Emily Rowe added 11 to lead Caston.
Caston won the junior varsity game 35-22.
LCA, which falls to 3-4, hosts Culver on Dec. 2. Castpn, now 3-5, plays in the Cass County Invitational from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2.
