Claypool Receiving New Garbage Totes, Cemetery Prices
CLAYPOOL — During a brief meeting on Monday, Nov. 21 the Claypool town board took care of some end of the year housekeeping.
The board approved an amendment to the trash removal contract with Advanced Disposal. The contracted price will remain the same, but all residents will receive 95 gallon trash totes. The totes are expected to arrive in two to three weeks.
Due to rising costs, the board approved raising the current cemetery rates. They stated that the rates have remained the same for many years and they are now on the low end of the cost spectrum compared to other cemeteries. Every cost, except for the cost of lots, were raised by $100. Lot costs are remaining at the same price.
The costs went into effect as of the meeting last night. All pending funerals will receive the old cost. This raises grave openings to $350, cremation services to $225, baby grave openings to $275 and disinterment to $450.
Previously, an additional fee was added for funerals after 3 p.m. on weekdays or anytime on Saturday. Now, the 3 p.m. rule will apply towards any day of the week. So any funeral after 3 p.m. on a Saturday will receive two extra fees.
