LCA Basketball: Busco Clips Cougars
CHURUBUSCO – A tough second half proved to be the downfall for the Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team Tuesday night.
The Cougars were outscored 36-8 in the final half in dropping a 51-24 final at Churubusco.
LCA led 16-15 at halftime before the Eagles outscored them 16-3 in the third period to take control.
Melissa Goss tossed in 14 points and also had five rebounds to pace LCA.
Heather Plastow scored four points and the trio of Jess Slone, Anna Reimink and Abigail Fishel each had two points for the Cougars. Slone led her team with 10 rebounds and Brady Gross had five caroms.
Stacia Fester had 14 points and Cassidy Yant 10 to lead Churubusco.
LCA drops to 2-2 on the season, while the Eagles move to 2-1.
LCA host Lakewood Park and Churubusco hosts Fairfield on Thursday night.
