SYRACUSE — High school and middle school robotics teams from around the state will compete head to head for a spot in the VEX Robotics Indiana State Championships.
The Iron Pride fall qualifier is a robotics competition in which high school and middle school robotics teams from around the state face each other in two versus two matches in an action packed competition called Starstruck. Students design, build and program robots to pick up cubes and “stars,” foam objects that look like jacks, to deposit them on the opposing team’s side of a wall.
The alliance of two robots that has thrown, shoved and forced more stars and cubes over the wall onto the other team’s side of the field at the end of two minutes wins the match. Students will compete for prizes and bragging rights, but mostly bragging rights.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in the spectator gym at Wawasee High School. Admission is free.
