Syracuse Public Library News and Events
SYRACUSE — The following events will take place at the Syracuse Public Library:
There is Hoopla at the Library
Instantly borrow free digital movies, music, books and books-on-tape with your library card. The Syracuse Library has joined Hoopla to offer six digital checkouts each month with no waiting and no restrictions. If an item is available it is yours to checkout.
Go to the Syracuse website, use an email address, and use your library card number to get started.
One of the premier requirements in today’s technical society is to have a working email. The Syracuse Library is offering a couple of opportunities to setup an email and use it effectively or to answer more advanced questions at 6p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, or 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. This is an opportunity to make sure that you are using all the features on a new device. Please reserve a place in the class and confirm whether you will be bringing your own device.
The Week A-Z
Monday starts a week of children’s programs at 10:30 a.m. with story time. There will be a complete showing of “Hoosier: the story of Indiana” at 6 p.m. Monday Nov. 14, followed with a brief discussion. Tuesday has story time in the morning and the young adult book club at 5 p.m.Teens are going to play cards and eat an Autumn cake. Lego Build is meeting on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. where individuals and teams challenge other Lego builders. The winner voted best of the day will have their creation on display.
We Want You Back
If you came to the library on Oct. 31, you will be able to answer a couple of questions to qualify for a drawing we’re calling, “If we pick you, you pick a movie.” Come to the Syracuse Library before Dec. 1, to enter. The winner will return later to pick-up the movie they selected. Check out our website or call with questions at (574) 457-3022.
