Kosciusko County Sees Higher Voter Turnout
WARSAW — Voting is coming to a close with only a few hours left for Kosciusko County residents to cast their vote in the 2016 Presidential Election.
Jerry Nelson, a poll worker at the second precinct polling center in the Warsaw City Civil Chambers says voter turnout today has been “Outstanding.”
At about 2 p.m. today, the precinct had already had more voters come this year than had voted in the 2012 Presidential Election. At 2 p.m., 137 people had casted their vote, versus a total of 119 individuals who voted in that precinct in 2012.
Nelson mentioned that despite the fact voting is up, a large percentage of the precinct may not come out. The total amount of registered, eligible voters in the second precinct is 616 individuals. Nelson said, “If we get up to 30 percent, that’s a good turnout.”
The poll workers estimated roughly 200 people might vote in the precinct by the end of the day.
