Marie E. Cripe — UPDATED
Marie E. Cripe, 88, Jacksonville, Fla. and formerly of Warsaw, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016.
She was born Nov. 3, 1927 in Avilla to Wilmer P. and Alma (Diederich) Weimer. On Feb. 14, 1947 she married Norman Jay Cripe who proceeded her in death Oct. 24, 2004.
Surviving are their three children: Pastor Terry (Marlene) Cripe of Defiance, Ohio; Melody (John) Hecht of Concord, N.C.; and Tracy (Theresa) Cripe of Jacksonville, Fla; six grandchildren: Leah (Ben) Rodriguez, Sarah Cripe; Lindsay (Andy) Goolsby, Kristin Hecht; Tara Cripe and Evan Jay Cripe; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1720 East Center Street, Warsaw. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature a celebration of music selected by Marie and performed by her dear friend, Professor James Marriott of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. James Balke of Orange Park, Fla.
