Warsaw Community Schools Attend 2016 Indiana Conference for Women
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools paves the way in public education in the aspect of preparing leaders in the district and community by encouraging women leaders with professional and personal development. On October 26th, WCS sent nineteen women to the 2016 Indiana Conference for Women held at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
The “Celebrate Success” Conference kicked off with a welcome from Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Gerry Dick the host and creator of Inside Indiana Business. The co-founders of the conference Deborah Collins Stephens and Billie Dragoo believe this educational event is instrumental in building a strong ecosystem within the state which supports women building careers, creating companies, and experience lives that are rewarding, healthy and happy. The founders also state that research proves that environments that foster growth and development of women lead to healthier and more resilient communities and stronger economic growth.
The conference included internationally acclaimed authors and entrepreneurs with keynotes and breakout sessions designed around the topics of Leadership, Career Development, Personal Development and Entrepreneurship. The 1,500 attendees heard from today’s foremost thought leaders Miki Agrawal, CEO and Co-founder – THINX; Susan David, Ph.D., Cofounder – Institute of Coaching, McLean/Harvard Medical School; Moira Forbes, President and Publisher – ForbesWoman; Jessica Herrin, CEO and Founder – Stella & Dot; and Arianna Huffington, Founder – The Huffington Post/Founder and CEO of Thrive Global.
The theme of the conference was Dare. Dream. Do. and aligns with the WCS Mission of focusing on dreams for students but just as important as well for staff.
