Tippecanoe Valley Students Release Balloons To Raise Awareness For Anti-Bullying
AKRON — 125 kids at Tippecanoe Valley High School gathered to release balloons to raise awareness for bullying on Thursday, Oct. 27.
The balloon release at Tippecanoe Valley is part of a Kosciusko Cares iCare Youth Coalition initiative to raise awareness about Anti-bullying though balloon releases at area schools. Warsaw Community High School and Wawasee High School are also hosting balloon releases.
During lunch, high school students were given the option to sign up for the event. Students who participated were instructed to write on an index card attached to the orange balloons about a time when they had either bullied someone or had been bullied themselves.
Students then went out to the football field and released the balloons.
Juniors at Tippecanoe Valley High School, Madison O’Connell, Mackenzie Fear and Bryce Cudney heard from a guidance counselor about the initiative and put together this event for Tippecanoe Valley High School.
