Dorothy Hite — UPDATED
Dorothy Bay Hite died peacefully Oct. 22, 2016. She was 92.
Dot loved life. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, studying the constellations, and knitting. She was a true lifelong learner and worked very hard on passing this passion on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially loved water activities.
Dot and her late husband, De, could be seen on Lake Wawasee water skiing, sailing, and going to the boat in.
Her family will miss her wonderful 4th of July celebrations and her Christmas cookies and candy served on a silver tray.
Dot was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Dorothy B. Hite is survived by her two children: Jim (Susan) Hite, and Celeste (Bill) Cutter; four grandchildren: Lyssa (Kevin) Buchler, Lindsay Cutter, Philip Hite, Bates (Aly) Hite; two great-grandchildren: Paige and William Buchler.
Friends may celebrate Dorothy’s life with her family from noon-2 Friday, Nov. 11 at Eastlund Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the WACF, Center for Lakes and Streams, or the Syracuse EMS.
