2nd Mile Adventures Announces New Director and Open House
WINONA LAKE — 2nd Mile Adventures, an adventure ministry and discipleship organization established in 2001, has announced the selection of Nate Gernert as its new director. Nate succeeds the prior director, Tim Devlin, who returned to teaching this August for Warsaw High School. Gernert was chosen after a regional search and selection process.
“We are very excited for Nate to join the 2nd Mile Adventures family, and we are looking forward to see how God will use him to lead the organization,” said Kyle Alcorn, 2nd Mile Adventures Board Chairman. “Nate brings a hunger for adventure ministry and heart for reaching and discipling people.”
Most recently, Gernert was the Assistant General Manager at a bicycle and fitness shop and brings a wide breath of perspective and experience. He has also previously served as a youth pastor and has been leading bike packing trips for a number of years.
“I am excited to begin working with such a great organization that has a long history of impacting lives for Christ,” said Gernert. “2nd Mile Adventures has such a unique way of helping people grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and allowing that growth to spill over into the lives of others. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of 2nd Mile Adventures.”
2nd Mile Adventures will be holding a fall Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1740 Park Avenue, Winona Lake. Food will be provided. This will be a great opportunity for people to get to know Gernert and family and to learn more about the 2nd Mile Adventure’s mission.
