John Charles Love — UPDATED
John Charles Love, 86, Columbia City, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Born Oct. 26, 1929 in Lowell he was the son of Harold William and Edith Arvilla (Griesel) Love.
John attended Tri-Creek Schools and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1947. He then attended Indiana University, Bloomington and graduated with the Class of 1951.
On Sept. 22, 1950 John married Beatrice Ann Bowman in Bloomington.
John resided in Lansing, Ill. for over 40 years and was a District Manager at Berkheimer Heating and Cooling, Lombard, Ill.
In 2003 John moved to Columbia City to be closer to his son and horses.
John enjoyed watching Chicago Bears and I.U. football and taking vacations to different areas of the country.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Bea Love of Columbia City; daughters: Belinda (James) Pala of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; and Donna Shane of Hebron; son, Douglas (Judy) Love of Columbia City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Jeffrey Love, and a sister, Dorthea Mae O’Brien.
Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at DeMoney Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Funeral services for John will follow immediately at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
