Vigil to be Held for Missing South Whitley Teen
COLUMBIA CITY — Nineteen year old Marcus Wolfe has been missing for nearly three months after he did not return home on July 25.
“This was completely uncharacteristic,” said Marcus’s mother Tammy Wolfe of his disappearance. “He would tell me everything. He wouldn’t go anywhere without saying anything.”
Marcus had attended The Bear’s Birthday Bash on July 24 before going to work the next morning working with a construction company. Marcus was last seen when he had dinner with his mother the night of July 25 at her Columbia City home. Tammy stated that it was around 9:30 p.m. when she sent him home. Marcus had an apartment in South Whitley.
“He was out working on roofs in the hot sun all day. I knew he was tired,” says Tammy. “He hadn’t slept in a couple of days.”
Tammy described Marcus’s relationship with his grandparents, saying his grandfather was going to teach him how to golf. “He had a job he loved, a great relationship with his grandparents, a great relationship with me [his mother]. He wouldn’t just take off.”
A vigil will be held on the Columbia City Courthouse lawn on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
“It’s to raise awareness that he’s still missing and also to bring awareness to other missing people,” stated Tammy.
Marcus Wolfe is 5 foot 10 inches tall with blue eyes and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a Shoemaker Construction t-shirt and black shorts and driving a 1997 dark blue two-door Saturn with the license plate 377NEJ.
People with information regarding Marcus Wolfe’s whereabouts are asked to call the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department at (260) 244-6410, option 1.
