James T. Himes, 58, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Plymouth campus.
James was born Sept. 11, 1958 in Kosciusko County. James is a 1977 Penn High school graduate. James was a hard-working man who retired in 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. But his greatest joy in life were his grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his paternal parents. James was preceded in passing by his love and companion, Sharon Daugherty July 21, 2016.
James is survived by his loving children: Jenell and Tim Roney of Plymouth; Jeremie and Amanda Himes of Plymouth; Victor Himes II of Plymouth; and Shay and Aaron White of Plymouth; and step children Autum Ruby (girlfriend Angela) of Argos; and Harley Daugherty (fiance Amber). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Ethan, Gaven, HayLie, Hanna, and Kaden Roney, Keiara and MacKenzie Himes, and Taylonna and Caysen White, Chance Pinkowski and Zayne Ruby as well as a great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Tina Muzel; and extended family: Teresa and Jim Cornelius, Jodi Rose, and Sheldon Rose.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Himes’ family. There will be a Celebration of Life at Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, 8985 State Rd 17 Plymouth, beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22.
Memorial contributions can be given to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
